RomanticTimes Magazine Career Achievement Nominee for Historical Storyteller of the Year!

April 1, 2009
Yes, I know it's been awhile, but I've been busy finishing up book 1 in my new Children of the Mist series! Honestly, I didn't think I would ever fall in love with a character the way I did with Callum MacGregor from Laird, but his firstborn son, Rob has stolen my heart and I hated ending his story. Of course, I'll get to work with him again during my revisions, and I do have his brother, Tristan impatiently waiting in the wings. Ah, Tristan, the prodigal son who has more layers beneath his flippant grins and devilish demeanor than a slice of delectable Napoleon cake. (Haven't tried Napoleon cake yet? You must!)

But let's forget about my obvious hankering for decedent sweets and move on, shall we? I'll keep you all updated on Rob's book, and Tristan's too, here and on Twitter.
In other news: I'm delighted and honored that AHNS has won the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence. Go Graham and Claire! (BTW, their son, Connor Grant will star in book 3, along with Callum and Kate's daughter, Mairi)
Side note: While Claire's brother, Connor Stuart, will be appearing in the Children of the Mist series, he will not be getting his own book. At least, not anytime soon. The powers that be have spoken.
In contest news: This month I'm excited to offer my readers a chance to win, not only signed copies of Laird of the Mist & A Highlander Never Surrenders, but also a signed copy of Margaret Mallory's debut novel, Knight of Desire! Ms. Mallory is a wonderful new talent at Grand Central. I've had the privilege of reading KOD and loved it!!

December News: I'm thrilled to announce that I've signed a new contract with Grand Central Publishing for a four, count 'em, four book series called Children Of The Mist. The series will center around Callum & Kate's (Laird of the Mist) and Graham & Claire's (AHNS)now grown children. Needless to say, I'm excited to be revisting my favorite characters and developing their strong, sensual, headstrong bairns.

Read free chapters of A Highlander Never Surrenders. READ
Don't forget to visit the AHNS fun Extras page.
I've heard from some readers that their local bookstore has been out of copies of Laird. Please ask your bookseller to order more!

That's it for now, dear readers until we speak again.
Warmly,
Paula Quinn
